Introduction to Shadow
Join me for a fun, immersive and informative one day session to discover
what shadow work is and how it can improve your coaching practice.

24th June 2026
10am - 4pm
In person | London

Are you looking for continuing professional development that puts you at the centre?
Using compassionate shadow work as a self-reflective tool transformed my coaching: both in terms of how I experienced myself as a coach and the presence I offer to my clients.
Which are, of course, interconnected.
And now I am offering you the chance to come and:
-
learn what shadow is
-
recognise when it takes you out of presence
-
learn how to approach it through a compassionate lens
-
explore some simple practices to proactively engage you shadow
-
recognise when this might show up in the coaching relationship
-
develop an appreciation for your shadow as an untapped resource

The session will be thought provoking, immersive and fun - because keeping things light makes everything more digestible.
The session will take place in the beautiful Prana Voice. A soulful space with lots of natural light and great energy.

You will be in a space with like-minded
coaches so there will be the added bonus of:
-
meeting new people
-
networking
-
getting away from the screen!

What is shadow?
Shadow refers to the parts of ourselves that have been consigned to the unconscious. It's a natural process that happens during childhood, as we are socialised into our world. We form an identity about all that is deemed acceptable within our families, religions, genders or schooling...and all that is deemed 'unacceptabe' has to go somewhere. It ends up in our unconscious. Unknown to us and yet, energetically, part of us.
As we get older, shadow comes calling, seeking reintegration. This can be unsettling or alarming if we don't know what's happening. But if we know what to look out for, we can work with the shadow. A beautiful and enriching process, for life.
Why shadow for coaches?
I have been a full time coach since 2013, and nearly walked away from the profession a couple of time in the first ten years. I always had a steady stream of coaching work and loved continually developing my skills through regular CPD.
And still, I couldn’t shake the oppressive presence of my Inner Critic who would greet me at the end of every session with its clipboard, ready to determine whether my performance in the session had been Good or Bad.
If it was a ‘bad’ session, then it would unleash a tirade of abuse at me, some favourites including;
-
any other coach would do a better job than you
-
they only show up because you’re nice; you’re not actually helping
-
you haven’t got a clue what you’re doing
It wasn’t that I wanted to leave the profession - but I did want to release myself from this constant barrage. Then I discovered shadow work. And everything changed.
Since using shadow work for my personal and professional development:
-
I have stopped judging myself so harshly and learned to use judgements as transformational data
-
I have become more expansive in sessions; more settled and free to show up as my full self
-
my clients seemed to catch the uplift, showing up more fully themselves, too
-
I take more risks in my business; I experience more permission to fly and fail in equal measure
-
I am more authentic, more of the time, in more spaces
There are ripple effects of ease, enjoyment and transformation and, frankly, it’s been a game-changer.
This one day Introduction to Shadow is my chance to share more about the transformational power of a Compassionate Shadow approach. I hope to see you there.
